When You’re Hurting

Some days are just heavy. This page doesn’t try to fix that — it’s just here to sit with you for a minute, remind you of a few true things, and give you somewhere to put what you’re feeling.

First, a few true things

  • Feeling bad is not weakness. It’s weather. It moves through.
  • You have survived 100% of your worst days so far. That’s not luck — that’s you.
  • Pain lies. It tells you it will last forever and that you’re alone. It is wrong on both counts.
  • You don’t have to be strong today. You just have to be here.
  • Tony loves you exactly as you are — hurting, tired, quiet, or anything else. No performance required.

Small things that help (pick just one)

  • Step outside. Sunlight and fresh air change body chemistry in minutes. Even the porch counts.
  • Drink a glass of water and eat something small. Half of “awful” is sometimes just “dehydrated and hungry.”
  • Breathe in for 4 counts, out for 6. Ten times. The long exhale calms the nervous system — it’s not a trick, it’s biology.
  • Touch something alive — the dog, a plant, the dirt in the garden.
  • Do one tiny task. Make the bed. Feed a chicken. Finish it and let that be the whole win for now.
  • Put your hand on your heart and say, out loud: “This is hard, and I’m doing it anyway.”

If it’s one of those days

A prayer for heavy days

Lord, hold her close today.
When the weight won’t lift, carry it.
When she can’t pray, let her silence be a prayer anyway.
Remind her she is loved, she is not alone,
and morning always comes. Amen.

Your thoughts — write them here

Whatever is on your mind — spill it below. Nobody grades it, nobody judges it. This is your space. Come back anytime and read what you wrote; sometimes seeing your own words a week later is its own kind of comfort.
